Kent Hughes signe l'attaquant le plus productif de la LHJMQ

Ça bouge ce matin chez le Canadien alors que la direction de l'équipe a annoncé la signature de l'attaquant Joshua Roy à un contrat d'entrée de 3 ans.

Âgé de 18 ans, Joshua Roy est un choix de 5e ronde (150e total) en 2021 par le CH. En 50 matchs jusqu'à présent cette saison, il cumule une fiche de 36 buts et 56 passes pour un total de 92 points, ce qui le place au deuxième rang de tous pointeurs de la LHJMQ et lui donne la meilleure moyenne de points par match de la ligue.

MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens general manager, Kent Hughes, announced on Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract (2022-23 to 2024-25) with forward Joshua Roy.

The agreement will see Roy earn $750,000 at the NHL level in 2022-23, and contains a signing bonus of $92,500. He will earn $10,500 if he plays at the Junior level. The contract will pay Roy $775,000 in the NHL for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, in addition to signing bonuses of $92,500 (2023-24) and $85,000 (2024-25). Roy is set to make $80,000 per season at the AHL level.

Roy, 18, ranks second in QMJHL scoring with 92 points (36 goals, 56 assists) in 50 games for the Sherbrooke Phoenix this season.

The 6'00'' and 186 lbs left-winger is in his third season in the QMJHL, having amassed 171 points (74 goals, 97 assists) in 145 contests since 2019 with the Phoenix and the Saint-John Sea Dogs, who selected him first overall in the 2019 QMJHL Draft.

Roy was selected in the fifth round (150th overall) by the Canadiens in the 2021 NHL Draft.
